Thank you for the kind compliments. I chose the portrait mode because I wanted to include more of the red sash. I contemplated a landscape composition, but it didn't look right in the viewfinder.

Lovely composition and use of light. I am just wondering, why did you choose a vertical, instead of horizontal, orientation?
Beautiful, Dewman! I guess I'd better start taking pictures of things I'll have to part with when we move. Soooo sad...have to get rid of at least one whole room of furniture. :(
Thank you again for you wonderful comments. I'm sorry that you have to part with some of your possessions.

Thanks for the nice comment, Jolly Roger. It was a fun shoot. I love digging around in thrift stores for treasures like that old pitcher. Next up is a bag of old costume jewelry for some still lifes.
Thanks for the compliment. The knife (in the foreground) is a custom made dagger by a bladesmith in Central California. He has fashioned several for me over the years, each one unique and a true work of art. Sadly, he is getting up in years now, and no longer produces these wonderful pieces. Each is completely hand made using virtually nothing more than files, a home made forge and a grinding wheel.
