I found this beautiful ceramic pitcher at a thrift store today and, unable to sleep tonight, I shot this still life. Not all that much.... but it helps pass the time.

Shot with a Pentax K-50 using a Tamron 28-200mm lens. ISO 800, 1/6th @ f:5.6.

To help dispel any rumors about this particular lens' lack of sharpness, I offer this as evidence to the contrary! Please, by all means, try the download.

Snowed in are we?

My solution is to read or go on line. Like right now.

I seems to do pretty well. Still life isn't my thing but I do like well done ones by other people.

I like this one.

No, not snowed in... thank goodness. I suffer from horrendous bouts of insomnia at times... and this is one of those times. So, out comes the camera and some whatnots.

I normally dont care that much for still life, but this one is most excellent. Love the lighting

Thank you for the compliments. Candle light always seems to lend a certain warmth, even when other lighting sources are used. I had one 200 watt bulb in a reflector bounced off a white umbrella at about a 70 degree angle to the right.

Not too shabby. I covet the Navy lock. You are a long way from an ocean.

I like your sleep walking Dewy. I have the same problem, but I go for walks in the woods or go out and carve.:)

When I was young, I asked a photographer, "Do you take pitchers?" He said, "No, I take pictures." In your case, Dewman, I like 'em both...the pitcher and the picture. ;-)

You surely have a dramatic flare!!! (Is that a leg from a pair of pants?) Love that new pitcher, and that there is a hint of red and pink to complement the swath of red linen.
