My cats Petey and Lily were saved after being abandoned in the woods. Petey was a scrawny, skinny thing. Now, he looks like an ocelot with a relatively small head, slinky body, looooong tail and silky fur. In contrast, Lily is a "regular" tiger cat. Both are very affectionate, but Petey only as I'm about to close my eyes for dreamland. I don't know how he times it! And Lily is the one who paws at our faces at 6 AM to get fed. As everyone who has animals has said, they truly add years to our lives.

Oh, that 2nd picture is so cute. We have 2 that know the nose trick, but it is for petting even in the middle of the night. I'm so glad the 3rd one leaves me alone. She pesters hubby.

Thanks, merrytexan. Each one is pretty in his and her own way. Petey looks like the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet, and is much darker than Lily, who has more brown fur.

Thanks, khm105. Cats can be cute no matter what age they are, don't you think?

Thumbs up from you, farrokh, means a lot to me. Thanks!
Hi Ediesaul,
Love the shots - I love kitties and cats (as a male that probably indicates a "defect" somewhere in my DNA - according to certain individuals in possession of far too much testosterone or possibly have a definite lack of same and overcompensate). I was aware of your saying "animals add years to our lives" but the part you might have inadvertently omitted (and that I have come to really love) adds "and LIFE to our years". As a 70 year old (I can't believe it!) this portion of the saying has taken on slightly more significance. Again, the two images say so much to those who can genuinely appreciate them. Terrific captures.
All the bet to you and yours,
Terry
