Sure did. I missed an opportunity of getting a shot of an otter chasing into a flock of American Coots. Couldn't get the car stopped in time and the camera ready.

I like #5 the best but they are all nice shots. coots are very hard to shoot and get detail

Excellent shots, I love them all. Hope to see more photos. My wife and I love pictures of birds. We have a love for hummingbirds, but appreciate photos of all birds. Thank you for posting them.

The bittern is in a very standard pose, but I liked the angle from which the shot was taken. It provides a different perspective. And yes, the American Coot is often overlooked when photographing. I find them a very cool bird to work with if the lighting provides enough info for the feather detail. They can be quite comical to watch as well.

I would venture to guess that most people pass them up because they are so dark and not very colorful, and very, very common as well as plentiful at times.
