New friend of mine suggested this photo might do well in B&W. Shot with my 16-35 f/4 at 25mm, ISO 100, f/11, 1/640. What say you?

Color B&W was originally used 'cause we didn't have the know how to make color. Color is real, B&W "fake" I learned in B&W both camera & dark room,. It was pretty difficult to do Kodachrome in the home, and then came KodaColor.

They both look great, but I lean towards the color version.

The colored one does it for me....B&W is nice, but does not apply in some pictures where the emphasis is to show depth and the different color shades. My opinion....

Thanks for all the comments and must admit I prefer the color, but converting to B&W is an interesting process, one in which I have much to learn. 8-)

To me the color shot is far more dynamic. You can actually see what you're looking at. Nicely done.

I'll be the odd guy out--I think the b&w has more impact. The color version looks a lot like every other pretty mountain-and-valley photo--nothing wrong with it at all. But the b&w has more pop to it as far as I am concerned, especially the sky.

The sky wasn't very dramatic until I went into LR B&W and reduced the blue and aqua sliders. Then the sky popped, as you say. (Thanks Gene)

Another vote for color.
I think the color image is more engaging.
