Agree with you a 100%.Don't believe in removing power lines adding clouds etc to me that is phoney.
BTW a great shot at that distance.
Thank you, rolf. I won't make major changes to my photos. No matter how nice they could be if I made a big change, I won't do it. If a person does this, then you wonder what part of the photo is real and which is fake.

Great shot, Regis! You make it look almost routine!!
Really nice picture, and so lucky to get that close to the eagle. Just picked up a Tamron 150-600mm for my 5d mk3, very impressed with the limited shots I have been able to take so far with the lens.

Thank you, Swamp-Cork. I couldn't get any closer to the Eagle. Too many trees in the way.

Thank you, rjallen. This wasn't close compared to my other 44 yard shot. Anyhow, I was happy to get this shot with all the trees in the way.
You will like this lens once you get used to it.

Very nice shot Regis. On this particular photo I wouldn't remove any of the branches or tweaks. When I remove a twig from a photo it is usually because it cuts across the eye and ruins a very nice shot. Tell me, do you crop your photos? Doesn't that change the photo but it doesn't make it fake. But it does change the photo.
As for removing power lines that cut across a photo I am not against going that. When I take a photo of a historic site I try to make the photo look like it did when it was first constructed, originally built. All too often power lines are run overhead instead of underground where they should be. In my opinion it ruins the looks of old buildings.
I guess it's a matter of personal judgment. As the old saying goes, to each their own.

Thank you, Jim. Yes, I crop my photos to bring about a better composition and to increase the photo size for detail. Composition for me is very important. But I do not make any major changes to my photos like changing the backgrounds or eliminating a large branch in front of a eagles head. But, I agree with you concerning other minor changes like the overhead power lines. I like to keep my photos realistic and natural but sometimes add some contrast or definition to put the photos at their best. I think most photographers want their photos to look their best without going overboard with the PP.
