Now that the busy weekends of Santa Trains are over and I edited and posted my Photo Essay of the event I can experiment with individual shots. Here is a B&W conversion of one from the essay with emphasis on the grungy dirty side of the crew's jobs. Here are two variations.

Your first photo is outstanding!!!! The second one would be good if it were part of a story book with illustrations. As for me, I would be quite proud of #1.

I love the first image Robert. The second is good PP but the first is classic B&W imagery IMHO. Merry Christmas.

#1 for me is perfect! #2 seems to have lost the train and a bit over processed. I have a tendency to do the same thing.

The contrast makes a mess of the background in 2, but 1 is a really nice shot, full of atmosphere, love it! Is it posed or caught in the moment?

Excellent work on both the b/w and the processed version. Admirable!

Both are nice, but the first version blows the second one away.
