I have Lion and also use Picasa. You need to post a question to the Help Forum as to why you can't download it. http://support.google.com/picasa/bin/request.py?contact_type=contact_policy

I just downloaded the update (I had 3.8 and it went to 3.9) Do the pics from the old version reappear in the new version or do I have to transfer everything over manually?

It will update all your photos. You won't have to do a thing.

The pics are only referenced from their location wherever you store them on your computer. They should reappear.

Thanks. I just tried it and they're there...along with a bunch of new stuff I'll have fun playing with.

I'm not sure if G+ is still invitation only. If it is and anyone needs an invitation let me know and I'll send you one. It's a terrific networking medium and allows very easy control of who sees each posting.

Google automatically downloaded it on my computer but I haven't tried to use it yet. What can it do?

Also the Mac version of Picasa is 3.94 and the PC version is 3.90 which may make them slightly different.

I think the Mac latest has side by side editing and PC does not. Correct me if I am wrong.

reread my post and check out .http://www.google.com/+/learnmore/better/
It's a great way to share pictures with anyone - not just other G+ users. You can control exactly who sees them and uploads provide a free unlimited backup for you.
Nothing to lose by trying it.

Correct me if I am wrong, according to Google, Picasa will cease on 4/19/12.

I think they are dumping their photo retouching site,
not the entire Picasa program.

Wow I have not heard that. What will happen to all my photos in Picasa. Well I guess they will still be on my hard drive. I tried downloading the one you suggested and my fire wall stopped me from getting it. If I can download it does it work like Picasa did? When I added in pictures to my pictures folder they automatically dumped to Picasa.
Thanks

Picasa is NOT ending, but the online Picnik is ending in April. Many of its effects are being included in Picasa's updates
