It is the same old story. Ford vs. Chevy. "I would rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy". Well I would never push anything when I CAN drive. What are you saying? Think about it instead of being so loyal to stupidity. It seems the Canon people are always trying to elevate themselves at the expense of someone else. Looks like and inferior product to me.
I don't know why you made the switch, but you have and now comes the learning curve.
I have 4 Nikons and didn't know squat so I bought the learning DVD'S

Have any of you folks who have moved from Canon to Nikon found the Nikons to be incredibly NON-intuitive?
I've had My D750 since Friday night and I've not taken a shot with it because I'm so confused about how the damn thing works. The menu system is ridiculously unclear. The back LCD won't stay on so I can see my settings...even formatting a memory card is not as easy as it should be. :(
Any good tutorials out there?

The menu on Nikon's is asinine. I have both Pentax and a Nikon D00E. Drives me crazy. I had a Canon, the menu on it wasn't bad at all. But that Nikon, I hate it. Love the pictures it takes.

A neighbor of ours belongs to a camera club and it was just last summer when my neighbor had told me that a member in his club who is a physics professor at our local college had been overhear telling several other members in the club that Nikon's upper end DSLR cameras are preferred by people with higher IQs compared to Canon owners..
Being that I don't have a dog in this Canon Nikon fight, I own both and I will say that the Nikon D810 is just as easy to use, but I find that the Manual that comes with it refers to too many pages to address a point of interest. As an example, if you were to look into the D810's manual and you want to learn about bracketing, it will refer you to pages #134, 139, 143, 188, 211, and to #350. Then if you have a battery inquiry, it will refer you to pages #1, 13, 14, 19,327, 328, 374, 436, 484, and this does not include the battery pack :)

Did you have those problems with Canon?
Who makes the best camera? Sounds familiar! Regardless of make, a camera is a dark box. Nothing so different here. In the heydays of film, all cameras took the same film (your choice here). Last and up most a good lens.,Ha! Ha!......Now that made the difference here. So that being said in which lens made the difference, one had to choose that optical difference. You wanted the best? Nikon! Nope...... Canon!.....Nope....... Minolta who started this auto focus in the lens? Nope........ Only the lens made a difference back then and the only answer to this question is the optics of Carl Zeiss. In 35mm format, that meant Contax. In, medium format; Hasselblad. Period. That's why serious photographer took that route. However now film,(being history) it's digital times. So, sensors are being used as to the question who makes the best sensor? Remember a camera is still a dark box.
So who makes the best sensors for DSLR's? Sony...... Period.
But with a needed sensor, processing is needed as well. So, who makes the best processor for this, Sony's sensor? Nikon.
Put the two together........... Nikon's D810. Now we have the best sensor, best processor; next item the lens. Again the only answer to this is......... Once again Carl Zeiss.
Look out Zeiss ....... Here, comes Sigma Art series..
3 things needed for an excellent DSLR. Great sensor, processor, and lens. Anything other than that are called bells, and whistles. And there are plenty that today cameras offer. Don't get me wrong...... I like those bells and whistles.
yes...I'll be getting it once it comes out.

No. This was the point of my question. The Canon seems more intuitive to ME. The Nikon is more complicated and yes, in some instances a bit more clunky to get around on.
To all of you "masters of photography" This is not about Canon vs. Nikon. It NEVER has been. So...ummm....go away.

you get reading . I don't have a d70 but I know for sure if I got I would know every thing about in a week . you got to walk before you can run . theres nothing wrong with the camera it's mostly the operator at fault .

Even physics professors can be stupid when moving out of their field of expertize. I know someone with an IQ (NOT Image Quality!) of 145 who uses Canon exclusively. So there!

I knew this thread would raise some interesting reactions. Thus passing the popcorn as the show ran. I still have plenty of popcorn. I don't mind sharing but you're up on stage.

Have to admit, not only uncalled for totally but he obviously never browsed your pictures. You did some amazing stuff with your 7D. You're an accomplished photographer.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. And Thank you for looking at some of my shots.
The fact is...I'm thinking of keeping my 7D and just one long lens for birds and such...I'll send it and the lens out for calibration so AF is spot on.
I'd actually like the 7D2 once some of the bugs get worked out. but i'm not made of money.
