Has this turned into a cooking forum now?

Do you fry worms in butter or put salad dressing on them?

All caps in my left pants pocket.... Always..... Matter of habit becomes automatic without any thinking.....

That's what I do, just don't like the lint that sometimes gets on the cap. A good puff of air generally clears that, though.

After being without my lens cap for 24 hrs, I found it in the pocket of the jacket I was wearing yesterday.

I think we discussed this before, but does anyone have a good way to keep track of lens covers - something other than a pocket? My son uses the leash system, but he had to reattach the cap holder with JB Weld after it fell off the cap. I don't like the cap dangling, and I would have to get one for each lens.

I was thinking of using male-to-male Velcro-like material. 3M makes some, as do other companies. One piece would go one each lens cap, and another would go on the camera strap.

Depending on the width of your camera strap you could sew a pocket on it to hold the lens caps :D

Man I Love these answers to your question.

Simple answer is . . . Photo/Camera Vest or an old or new Fishing Vest. All Have All size Pockets. You can put yopur extra batteries, cleaning cloth, Memory cards and yes, Lens Caps.

Works for me ;)

Jim

I use my pockets. That way it is always in one of them. Just never remember witch one, but 'O' well.

Me too. My left pocket, because I'm holding the camera with my right, so I remove the lens cap with my left and zing right in my left pocket. I always(usually) know where it is. Hopefully, unless I'm having a "moment."

Why take a precision piece of $1000 glass and shoot thru a $70 slab of glass?? I never use UV filters of any type. Now lets see if that opens a can of worms??

And then there are those amazing filters.....WAYYYY cheaper than a new lens if you scratch it! Actually, I use velcro dots and a piece of 1/8 in. wide satin black ribbon, and haven't had a problem with them coming off despite the fact that virtually all my shooting is done outside.

However, if it becomes a problem, all you have to do is rub it with mineral oil for a bit and it comes right off.

It's called living dangerously, and many people do it in lots of different ways. Not against the Constitution and, much of the time, not against the law.

If you go to walmart, any home center, or a fabric store.. they sell the male and female velcro in neat little circles.. stick the female or male on your lens cap and you can put the others on your bag, your tripod, etc.. My favorite is a sports sweatband I put on my right wrist and then when I go to take a picture I just stick it to my wrist.. hope that gives you some ideas...

I have used the method you suggest for several years and really like it.
