If you don't want to spend too much time on your knees for the low dramatic shots, consider a DSLR with a pivoting LED display plus a wide angle zoom lens. It'll take a while to learn how wide and how to hold the camera perpendicular to get good perspective, but you'll learn.
I purchased a Canon EOS Rebel T3 (refurbished) directly from Canon. Got a good price on it. I am looking forward to learning more with it. Thanks everyone for your input.
