I'm planning to upgrade from my D90 to a D7100. It comes in various "kit" packages and would like to know which lenses might be better and which to avoid. I now have Nikon 70-300, Tamron 18-270 and Sigma 10-20mm.

You've got all the lenses you need. Unless the kit comes very cheap, just buy a body. See if the vendor would let you buy a 35mm f1.4 or 1.8 instead.

Don't dump the D90. It is a great camera. I kept mine and now loan it to my daughter who uses it to shoot weddings and events. (I know it isn't professional, but her photos are.)

I have the 35 1.8 on my D7100. Paid $200 at best buy for it. It is very sharp and one my favorite lens'.

Forget kit lenses. Get the 28-300mm. It's about the only lens you really need. It you want a wide angle, get the Tamron 10-24mm.
