CHALLENGE - SELECTIVE FOCUS - DEC. 1 - 3
What the heck are you thinking Jacklpine. Bushido has purposely made the sander the subject by blurring the board in front, which was the perfect thing to do for what he was trying to achieve! Who are you to say what he should or shouldn't have as a subject! I am asking you to refrain from making such argumentative comments.
I would also like you to stop sending PM's such as this--If you don`t like this sort of thing we would ask you to go to another thread and post snapshots of whatever you like for we are here to learn, not to argue.
``Can you really call an electric sander the subject?
Sorry, the beautiful board is the subject to me. The sander should be blurred. The finishing of the board is the work done, the end result.
This idea is just as stupid, bad, non photograph as that of slowing the water flowing in a stream or river
Please go look up the definition of photograph "record what is", "likeness of what the eye can see". I just sent a reply to the Picture Correct people over today's subject. It is incorrect to slow down the shutter speed with a fast moving subject, especially that of water falls. What is the good of doing images that hurt this world? I am wondering if these ideas will be as harmful to the planet and monoculture lawns kept via weed and feed cosmetic poisons or field and lawn edges whipper snipped to destroy helpful animal habitat ------- such as bees, who are essential.
& yes it's the 'how to "correctly" take waterfalls that really has me going. All of us should react to that one with "wake up messages". Anyone who shoots running water with slow shutter speed needs to be made to open their eyes, ears and sense of smell.

But what you have done is made the electric sander the important subject. Who cares what kind of a sander did the work? Unless you work for that company or store.... I'd fuzzy up the sander.
:-D

Thank you Corolyn. I was lucky that they were lined up. I had to work the angle to get both colors. Thanks for noticing! :-)

Just scrolling back through all the posts and your Chrysanthemum caught my eye. Wow! complementary colors!!! And so beautiful, too. I am learning a lot from you Clicker and appreciate your challenges. Hope I have been following the rules. Some times when it comes to composition, I just go with what I feel, rules be hanged.
What you are seeing is the bottom side. This was taken through a window.
LOL! Now that is one way of getting a shot! Worked well! :-)

Our peanut feeder attracts many birds as well as, a few nuisance Gray Squirrels, although the Squirrels are not too successful at feedingat it. These two pictures from today show a Squirrel and a Blue Jay feeding there. My camera setting was on AV with a f stop of 5.6
