Awww, I'm sooo glad you got to see him again...and he even remembered you! I don't think he'd sit on just anyone's shoulder! His eye looks great!

Bless your heart Erv for taking him to a vet. Our local vets won't touch them----I know cause I tried with a Cardinal. It had some kind of cover/ film over it's eye.

Hi Sue. I haven't seen him for a few weeks. We had that cold snap and all the birds seemed to leave. They are just starting to come back.
He always wants to come to me, some times he will not. But he has a wife now and if she is with him he will not even look at me.:):)

Thanks! The Vet is a very close friend. I have known him sense 1974. He is a very good vet. He has a small room just for wild life so it doesn't hurt the other animals.

I wish I could feed the birds, but the squirrels think the food is for them. The first year we had tiny peaches on our peach tree they took care of them too. I tried putting corn out for the deer, the crows took care of that. In the summer I have to close off access to my tropical plants from one of our cats. The birds like to make nests in the plants and when the little ones are trying to fly one of our cats catches atleast one of them so now she is banned. I don't know what eats some of my outdoor plants. I'm not willing to stay up all night to find out.
