My Little Buddy

This was the little guy I took to the Vet to have his eye looked at. He is doing really good. I haven't seen him in weeks. He came and landed on my shoulder just long enough to take a Sunflower seed.:)

Hi Erv, This is a male House Finch. Finches are very prone to an eye disease called 'conjunctivitis'. I'm one of a group of people who look out for that condition and report it to the school of ornithology at Cornell University. Did your vet happen to name the condition this bird had?

Hi Joe. He did but it has been so long, the old brain isn't bring it back.:) He had him in the office for a few days. Next time I see him I will ask. But what ever he did sure worked good.

Hi Kathy. I just started getting closer and closer with Sunflower seeds.:) Pretty soon he was sitting on my shoulder eating them. Now he will still come to me for a while. But he has a lady friend that doesn't like it to much. When she isn't around he will still come to me for a seed.
