I agree with a lot of what you are saying but all versions of Photoshop offer so much and am still finding other things within it now.
Yes my work has progressed no end within the last 6 years but until I get frustrated by not being able to create what I want or win the lottery and buy a 1DX will stay as I am. I must admit nowadays I use other editing programmes alongside Photoshop but always Photoshop 1st
It might make sense to download the trial - the user interface is pretty much the same, and you can find version comparisons online and see for yourself if it makes sense to upgrade to the newest version. Remember, you are now 4 revisions behind - there have been 3 since photoshop went to the subscription model, and numerous updates within the version.

I have been watching the video's, but the video's don't help at all.
How long does it take to learn Ps?
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to speed up the learning process?
Lightroom is so easy compared to Ps.
I keep thinking about cancelling the Ps subscription.
Best is someone to hold your hand. Next best a local technical
School. Most tech schools have several levels of Photoshop. Also clubs. If I was near I would be glad to tutor for free. David
The basics can be learned in a couple of hours. Crop, histogram of light, ect. David

Ok thanks will look into that but go into UHH search and type my name should bring up posted works for you
If not let me know. Thanks Frank
Oh you have my sympathy. I am not stupid by any means. I got so frustrated at books and tutorials. I would be going along fine, and suddenly the writer would assume you understood some basic of photoshop intuitively, that clearly I never encountered, and the tutorial would completely skip over steps, and I would be lost. Paint in white, paint in black, what??? Where did that come from?
I love Photoshop Essentials.com. They just make sense.
All I can say now is, "multiply" under the layers menu-where have you been my whole life?
Like many have said...probably a life time to learn everything. You need to use it daily. I took courses through our local library. This was a big help. I found a website which I often refer to for how to info. There are lots of short videos which show how to do things. Check out the website.
www.phlearn.com. Lots of free tutorials as well as pay tutorials. Good luck!

I'm not looking to master PS. I am having problems after I open PS. I just don't understand what to do???
I have watched Kelby One's 2 1/2 video on the fundamentals of PS 5 times now. The 5th time makes as little sense as the 1st time I watched.
I too have been struggling. You must have patience. This site seems to be helping me amongst many others.
http://www.photoshopessentials.comGive it a try if videos aren't working.

This will depend on your computer skills and experience with other similar programs. You can learn what you need of Photoshop in few hours if you are very skilled and you may not learn enough in your lifetime if you are one of those that struggle with simple tasks on your pc.
A graphic artist friend who has worked with Photoshop for many years says he still doesn't know everything. He's said it is the most complicated non-military software ever written. This may or may not be true, but I approach Photoshop as a life-long hobby.
