sounds good, would you provide us with "verifiable" information about the type and source of the "clean, efficient energy" that you refer to - thank you. Also would be interested rail transportation you refer to (again, need verifiable information) how much it would cost US taxpayers and if that transportation would take us were ever we want/need to go (grocery store, eye/medical doctor, into the great outdoors to take photographs & etc). seems like a pipe-dream to me, would like to know where you are getting your verifiable information. Look forward to hearing from you - thanks

The US doesn't have enough domestic oil production to even come close to meeting it's own energy needs. Why would we export something that we don't have enough of?

We have it!! Obama has stopped it from coming out of the ground with the help of the EPA and over regulations. It does not meet with his Green Energy. Instead we import oil from countries that hate us and wish us dead.

We import more than we export...

No, I do consider the facts, but when the facts come from people with their track record for honesty, facts are hard to believe! And they've earned that badge more than once

So what if it is just passing through. Think about the jobs it will provide. Not only that, think about the oil that we do import... we can and will tap into the pipeline at a lower import price. And who do you think will be doing the exporting. Our ports. Money... Money... Money...!

If Obama was for it - so would you... tink about that.

Love the pictures. I see a lot of that here in Louisiana.

According to the state dept. it would only create 35 permanent jobs. Does not take a lot of folks to run a pipeline after its built! Thats a whole lot of risk for 35 permanent Jobs.If you research the pipeline on your own you will find its a No win situation for the U.S.A. Corporations and the Congressmen they own are lying to the uninformed. Please do some research and not just believe those beholding to their donors and sponsors!

Yes we do. But we don't come close to producing
enough oil domestically to meet our energy needs.
Also-
Oil production in the US is up.

Obama has stopped oil from coming out of the ground with the help of the EPA and over regulations where?

I am not a big fan of using a Photo chat web site for politics. It really is distracting to the primary purpose of the site. There are many other sites where one can view their opinions on things like KL, Immigration etc..

Keep our site "focused" on the topic of Photography please. If this is not possible, then I will unsubcribe and would encourage others who dislike the banter to do the same.

But it takes a lot of people to build it! It will take thirty five people to check and to maintain the pipeline but creates more jobs at the point of export.

It would be like saying, I can not start up a business because it will only need five people to run it.

35 people working is better than no one working but receiving a check from the government.

The pipeline would be a job creator, although most of those jobs would be temporary. The State Department environmental review estimated that Keystone would support 42,000 temporary jobs over its two-year construction period — about 3,900 of them in construction, the rest in indirect support jobs, such as food service. It estimated that it would create about 35 permanent jobs.

Also, NE still has not approved the pipeline going through it using the proposed route.

I was surprised to learn that the purpose of the pipeline is to get the oil to ports in TX, where it can be exported.

Where big money is to be made, things get done - regardless.

Your right jerry, this is not a Dem or Rep issue, its us being duped by corperations and their minions. This issue is about money for corperations at the risk of our water supply. This oil is not for us but for exportation! 35 permanent jobs does not seem to justify the risk. I understand that thousands of temporary jobs will be created but when they are gone we are stuck with the pipeline! This is not a conservative or liberal issue but one of common sense.
