I also use Op/Tech (I have 2). I attached one of my Nikon OEM straps to my tripod.
Everyone's body topology, movements, habits and shooting styles are unique to themselves and have an impact on their choices.
OpTech appears to be the selection of the majority. How ever I personally have chosen a popular brand and modified it to fit my personal preferences.
My advise would be to take the recommendations you find here and try as many as possible in a camera store with your camera attached. There are many ways to carry (Neck, Sling etc) and only you will be able to determine the best for yourself. Once you carry for awhile you may even change later as you evolve your style.

OEM camera straps are not very comfortable in use. What brand/model aftermarket have you tried and recommend? Please list pros/cons. Thank you!
Based on input from our fellow UHH members I bought an Op Tech. I carry a Canon 7D with up to a 70-300 lens in total comfort. It sits on my right hip and straps across my left shoulder. I recommend it to you. Good luck.
I have two Black Rapids in the closet gathering dust. They were replaced with OpTech straps. Reason was the attachment location. Anyone want to buy a couple of slightly used Black Rapids? Oh yes, the OpTechs are much less expensive than the Black Rapids.

I use a single or dual Black Rapid for events like weddings, where I am dressed and not actively running around, and a Cotton Carrier when I am out hiking and backpacking and I don't want a camera swinging around and banging me in the hip.

A friend of mine bought the Blackrapid Extreme sport strap from Adorama and loves it. Especially the underarm piece that keeps it from falling off the shoulder. Also, it is fairly quickly removable so that you can shoot using no strap if the situation requires. This is probably my next purchase.
Sounds like I'm the rogue in the bunch. I've used Tamrac N-45 straps for over 25 years. They hava a suede section in the center for neck comfort & quick release on each side. Cost about $25.00 at B&H.
OpTech straps are the way to go

This strap is designed by a photographer, is well made, comfortable, and will not slip off your shoulder.
op tech sling strap. it connects to the two mount points on the body for a strap. I'm wary of straps that use just the tripod mount.
I also use Black Rapid for years, the double strap and the cross shot. I love the strap just follow the instructions and you'll have no problems.

I have the Black Rapid Sport. Love it. It's on my camera 24/7. I got the left handed even though I'm right handed.

I use the Cowboy sling strap from Amazon, comfortable, keeps the camera to the side, attaches to the tripod mount. Very affordable.

As an alternative I would recommend the Indigo marble sling. Well made, comfortable, less expensive than most comparable slings. I have four slings by three manufacturers--check out Indigo Marble.

What ship were you on? My brother was an HT2 on the USS Luce DDG-38 back in 81-85. They went to the Persian Gulf in 84.
Black Rapid. One or two cameras.
