Greetings folks! I've been reading the daily UHH topics emails for a month or so, registered today and thought I'd say hello.. Long time photographer and Nikonian but moderately recent digital convert (2012). I live near the Texas Gulf Coast, about 10 minutes from the Johnson Space Center. Lots of wildlife photo opportunities in this area, so I'll likely be posting a photo from time to time in the gallery for comments and constructive criticism. Current dslr is a D4s, using primarily a Nikon 80-400 while I decide between the 200-400 or the 400/2.8. Or perhaps both, if I can win the lottery without buying a ticket! 😝
That's about it for now, make it a great day!

Welcome Mike to the UHH family...looking forward to your wildlife photos :-D The 400/2.8 sounds like something I would love for wildlife...but I would definitely have to win the lottery ;-)
Thanks, Carolina! I appreciate the welcome!
Welcome Mike, we need more Texans here! If you've been lurking for a while, you already know how friendly and helpful this place is. Looking forward to your images, helping you and being helped in return. The Hog is a great place to pay it forward...
Here is your bird's cousin in Austin from last July...
Thanks for the warm welcome, PC! Definitely plan on paying it forward!

Mentally........yes. :D
Hello Mike and welcome. Good luck with the lottery! I am banking on Santa for my new lens! Ho Ho Ho! Ohhhh.......wait! I haven't been that good. I better buy a ticket with you!!
Hi, Dandelion!! Thanks for the welcome. Sadly, I can't count on Santa coming through on this one either, for much the same reason(s).. Sigh.. By the way, I'm impressed that you've been a member for less than 2 weeks and already have 40 posts. Wow!

Mike- I was welcomed warmly upon my arrival. Many of those posts are "Hellos, Howdys, Welcomes & Greetings" to the new folks.
I wish other newbies to feel the love the way I did. I am a simple country gal that has a passion (read obsession!) for this craft that we all share.
I am doing my best to learn and make a few buddies along the journey. However, the jolly ole' elf won't be one. Appears I am a bit to stubborn and ornery for him. Excuse me while I go back to my scratch off tickets!
Aloha Mike and welcome to UHH. Beautiful photo. Mahalo for posting.
Greetings Mike, and welcome to the UHH!
