Can anyone help to make the person in this photo appear more youthful?? Smoother skin/blemishes....
If so what method or software are you using?
Also, is there any free software available that you could recommend?
Thanks in advance...
Many others have already replied but here is my effort any way. Just a little Gaussian blur and some spot healing.
Personally I think she is a beautiful mature woman who really should be portrayed as she is. Just my opinion but I think she's lovely.
Thanks Infocus, you are correct she is very nice and personality to match...
Your concept is refreshing too...
A belated try from me using a free program, Paint.net, I think I've reduced the appearance by around ten years, maybe ?, regards, John.

This was done by Anthropics Portrait Professional (Studio version, which allows it to be used as plugin from within Photoshop), then NIK Color Efex, Darken/Lighten Center effect. Recropped.
I vote for this one as the best so far. Perhaps a bit too much blur but the crop really helps and, if it is at all real, the eye color really helps as well.
I might have gone even a bit further with the crop. The blue dress was really bothering me. With the blue background her head seems to be popping out of a stage set or something. The dress looks to large. This crop helped a lot.
Thanks MtnMn,,, Appreciate your inputs. I thought the same about the blouse, but, the finished photo will probably be cropped from just below the chin to the top of her hair... Blouse should not be part of the finished photo print.

I remember somebody once commenting that if a subject has a blemish, it could be taken as an insult if it is completely removed, so it's better to tone it down or find some way to diminish its prominence. So I took the same approach with Robin's wrinkles.
There have been some stunning edits up till now, but I'm left with the impression that no matter how good they are, they don't look like quite the same person. I tried to keep this looking natural and at the same time not changing the subject's appearance too much.
All adjustments done in Lightroom. I used several applications of the adjustments brush to lighten shadows and reduce contrast and clarity in the area of the wrinkles. The rest was overall tweaks to the colours, light levels, contrast etc.
Thanks for posting. I'm still very much on the learning curve, especially where portraits are concerned, so I need the practice. Tell Robin it would take more than a few wrinkles to diminish her attractiveness.

Wow, what the other guys did pp was amazing. I would give some thought to what you can do before you pull the trigger, especially with the placement of lights. I bet that would help, if the occasion allowed.
. You sure ended up a lucky guy with all these beauties you have to pin to your walls.
