Thanks for the sampling, Brent. We went to Hawaii last winter and I spend an afternoon shooting a world-class surfing competition on the north shore. (I think Slater won it later that weekend.) I'd guess the waves were 10-15 ft. that day. The next day we had other plans and missed some 40 ft. waves. (We saw it on the tv news that night.)
Can you share with us what lens and camera shutter speeds you were using? Also, probably more importantly, were you able to get fairly close to the water to photograph or were you back in the crowd? Any other tips?

Those are some really nice shots, there's just something about surfing pictures that just draw you in. They put a smile on my face thanks for sharing them..
