Wow! That's quite a lot of pics, Brent :-D All super IMO with a lean toward #19 if I have to choose a favorite. Very enjoyable series and great shots.

Brent,

All are wonderful action shots. I like the circular spray of water in the last one. Very well done, sir.

Just superb Brent. So well done. I recognize all the surfers, and you've captured the action beautifully. Especially the shots of John John.

Amazing captures,Brent! And this just had to be stunning to watch! You got the action and the water spray and the skill/art form of these athletes. #12 & #15 are just amazing moments-in-time, and the water spray in #18 &25 is like freezing it there. The scenes on the beach are colorful and fun.My fav has to be #7 for the powerful emotion of the contestant. Nothing like California for a day in the sun when back east its quickly cooling towards autumn.

Donna, you have chosen the smallest wave of the series as your fav! It's about 3' high but I think the factor that swayed you that way was the splash............right?

Thanks Phil. I know all of these photos are not "stellar" but I wanted to give the people in the mid west (and other places) a "feeling" of what a pro surfing contest is like.

Great photos! Several are SI worthy. I especially loved #12 for the crispness, the safety line streaming out and air the under his feet.n

Thanks Dennis.......If you shoot enough shots in "machine gun mode" you get lucky with shots like that one.

Thanks Jude. As you know, John John is in the quarterfinals with the other "big boys" like Fanning, Slater and Medina

Thanks so much Carly for your in depth look at this thread. Your comments are always different than the other comments yet very "spot on" in your perceptions. I also really like #7. And just in case you didn't know, that is Kelly Slater who happens to be the worlds greatest surfer with 11 world championships under his wetsuit! I don't think in my lifetime I will ever see anyone that will surpass his records and championships.
