Julianne Kost is a great starting point and free. Scott Kelby and kelbyone have some pay for video training as does Steele and lynda.com all good. Once you learn the basics of lightroom I found Serge Ramelli, also free on youtube to provide some very interesting techniques in really making photos pop with relighting effects..

I had a few questions about using LR, so I went to Google. I looked at a couple of videos, but they were less than helpful. Obviously, the guy knew how to do what I wanted, but he wasn't very good at telling me how to do it.

Then I went to Adobe, and watched a Julieanne Kost video - perfect.

jerry,

She is good. In fact most adobe videos are very good. You may have to watch them a few times but you should be able to find what you want.

I like Morganti better than Julia, although both are excellent.

Lightroom 4 tutorials Probably the best on the web and also relevant to LR5

I found these LR tutorials invaluable. Very easy to understand and follow. Only wish I had watched them a year ago before I started trying to learn LR ad hoc.

I know Lightroom must be good for something, I have been hearing about for years now; I subscribed to the Cloud finally (after denying it vehemently), but I have watched tutorials and read help articles and I still am wondering what the heck it is. So far it seems like they have changed the meaning of all the words and processes I know, like someone switched the dictionary around or something. For instance they say "Import" but then deny it is importing (your photo), your photo is still there where it was but now it is a "Catalog"...??? Oh well, it took me several years to figure out how to make "Layers" work, and now I can't live without them. Sort of like when I first got a computer, couldn't figure out how to turn it off, then found you had to click the "Start" button to access the "Stop" button.
I know Lightroom must be good for something, I hav... (show quote)

I know what you mean. It's like they do it on purpose just to see if we're paying attention. There's always room for improvement.

Anthony Morganti is one of my go-to guys. Free on YouTube. Small bites at the apple, goes into a good amount of show-and-tell on his workflow using his images and has a critique section using submitted images where he gets into some good detail. Highly recommended.

Also thumbs up for Julianne Kost--top drawer.

For the develop module in LR Tony Morganti can't be beat also some of his PS tutorials are the best around.

Jerry; I have watched quite a few tutorials since I got Lightroom 5, but get more out of Terry White. Very good with his form of teaching.

He should be. He teaches seminars Worldwide representing Adobe products. He is a talented Nikon Photographer too. Works with Scott Kelby at NAPP Too. Just retired as President of Mac Group Detroit after 25+ years of service as President.
