Thanks Mike. Originally I wasn't too pleased with the perspective I'd gotten with this shot, but it's growing on me. I'm glad you like it.

I hadn't quite realized what marked perspective distortion one gets when shooting with a 16-35mm wide angle lens on a full-frame camera, and NOT shooting square to your subject. It's rather pronounced.
Actually, super-wide doesn't necessarily mean distortion. You did hit on the key to using it -- very sensitive to the angle of view! If you take a really wide shot and print or otherwise display it, then have your eye at just the right distance, it would appear just as your eye would see it in real life (not distorted!). Learning to tame a super-wide is a lot of fun and can create some really good photos. ... and some "wild" ones!
There used to be a lot of those old railway stations in the Midwest. I like the design of them and wish more of them were still standing.

Thanks for stopping by dar clicks. If you happen to find one of these now-elusive buildings, please be sure to send us a shot or two.

This has a great feel to it. It might be distortion; but it works for me.

Thanks Erich. The lines are straight and it's believable as a train station, so it does the job.
Thanks for the compliment kjfishman. This building has been very well preserved and serves as a great subject for architectural study.
