I shot those as jpegs in October 2010 (I have since learned that RAW is much better for pp.) I have had a long journey of learning how to use Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw to tune images. I mostly use ACR, then Topaz filters in PS (unless there is a particularly difficult area that needs to be handled in PS as a selection.)

To answer your question: my main tuning in these was using the brush in ACR to bring out shadow information. I don't think I have used too many pp tricks.
