The 24-70/4 L lens is sweet. I have a friend who has one and loves it. Smaller than the 2.8 and comparable image quality. Lots cheaper too and Canon did cut the price substantially on the lens. I was talking to this guy who claims to have 238,000 clicks on his 7D.

I have pre-ordered my 7D Mark II along with the 24-70 F4 - Canon Canada are offering a price that saves you $920 on the lens. Tough to turn that away.
Also, my current 7D that is rated for 150,000 shots is currently sitting at 191,000 and climbing. Hasn't given me a lick of trouble and will stay in the bag as my backup.

No. I will stick with my 7D and 450D for now.
Oh no!! Soft focus issues again just like the original 7D?!? ;)

Yeah I know what you mean. :)
I will probably order one before the ship date, and sell the 7D. Won't sell the 7D until after albuquerque baloon fiesta in October.
I did. I sold my 7D last year & have been using my 5Dlll. I think that the 7Dll will make a nice companion lens along with the 5Dlll. I bought both the 5Dlll & my 7D immediately & I have never been sorry. Bab

You will have the best of both worlds.
I preordered a 7D2 just after I read the specs. I think it was the morning of September 15th. This spring I traded my original 7D for a 70D to see if the tracking was better and to see if the tiltable viewing screen would be of use to me.
Most of the time I use my 5D3, but there are occasions when I want the crop factor of the Aps C sensor. I found that the 70D looks, feels, and acts like an amateur camera compared the 7D, so when I got the opportunity to get the updated 7D2 I jumped on it. What really convinced me that the new style 7D would be good for me is that the layout of controls is nearly identical to my beloved 5D3. Switching between cameras will be a lot less confusing. And, oh yes, I really want the increased weather protection.
HaHaHaHa you made me laugh... good point. :)) :))

I'm thinking about it. Along with an EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L II. I want to start shooting the local football and basketball teams and I think that would definitely be a better combination then the 6D and f/4 glass I currently have. Not sure if I will pre-order or not. May just wait for it to become available.
Depends on the lighting as I have used 100-400L lens at soccer matches with great results. But can't beat the 70-200/2.8L lens, either version.

For daylight my 70-300 f/4 L would probably be my better choice but many of the games I would go to would be at night under the lights or indoor under the lights. I think the 2.8 would be preferable under those conditions. It's just an idea I am tossing around. I may forget about it by the time the 7DII is available. Seems like it would be fun though, as well as quite a learning experience.
Does the new 7D Mark II have wifi capability?
