Which one is the "selfie"?

David, anytime you do a selfie, you want to make sure your eyes are sharp!!
The tip of the nose doesn't matter.
RRRiivveetttttt !!
SS
Edit: make sure you don't drink to much the night before, or it'll give that greenish tint!!

from what ive read i should have got the prime version
but others love it so could just be my copy

The 100-400 does have known sample variance. And, yes optimally it should be focus calibrated to whatever body you are using ! - @ 400mm.

The current version (push-pull) will be replaced with a rotating zoom ring lens. Chris

Hopefully, not only rotating zoom but non-extending zoom ! ....

"That greenish tint" is what was once referred to as the "Keith Richards effect". It was just a color ...

Just curious in what way does your sigma and tamron outperform your canon?

Not looking good for a new 100-400L this year. Here's an excerpt I just read on camonrumors.com. I hope they are wrong!!

There is no 100-400 replacement or ultrawide f/2.8L zoom being announced for Photokina. A full frame ultrawide zoom at the same time as the EOS 7D Mark II doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I think a new 100-400 definitely would. Here’s hoping it does indeed come this year.

If it's non-extending, there will probably never be one in my future.
For me, portability is one of the biggest attractions of the 100-400.
It fits easily into a backpack. Once that's gone, it may as well be a 2.8 also!

If I carry a lens, it is ready to shoot ( except maybe macro) . I like the idea of the lens staying in balance on whatever support and being able to zoom with one finger from a stationary good supporting position. Also, less wear and tear, and air pumping .......( with internal zoom)
