Glad I left when I did, after 30 years, because I
would not put up with this crap from anyone
principals, parents, kids, district, feds.
I agree common sense is dead. Political Correctness
is stupid. It is killing English also.

The best way not to offend someone, except
your family is to stay home in bed. Real people
with guts aren't offended most of the time, even
if it was intended. An adult society acting like 2
year olds. How would this have played out in Austraila.
Our Aussie friends probably just shaking their heads.

The problem wth this is that we cater to minorities. In this case it's atheists.

My dad bailed after 20+ as an instructor in a vocational department in a government school. He couldn't take the lack of discipline. The teachers hands are tied when it comes to discipline. And you can thank the NEA and the ACLU. He started the job after 20 years in the USAF where they still had rules and discipline. But the libs are trying to destroy that also.

No more catering to anyone, everyone should get their own
"da-- food" so to speak. They take you to court? Sue
them for passing for a human.

the constitution is also to protect us from stupidity, in this case the teachers. the "god bless you" was fading into thin air until the teacher made an issue of it. for most of us it's no more than when someone says "excuse me" when they bump into someone. who the heck was it distracting???? a little authority can go to the head of some people. oh one last thing, about religion being for church or home, for any of you who ascribe to any religion that would be breaking their first cardinal rule, of spreading the word.

I believe the teacher is the one who caused the disturbance. Although the students later remark as -NY Steve- mentioned was one step too far in school. Too many -thinned skinned- PC police around.

To each his own but not in my face.

That is all I have to say.

The students later remarks have no bearing on the subject of why she had to endure what she has. The two words spoken in the classroom are the only things relevant. "Bless you". From what I've heard it was not "God bless you" and even if it were the three words, so what. It's not like she was holding a religious sermon on the sacred grounds of the government school. What if a student in the weight room working out for the football team and can't quite in that rep say "God damn It!" Suspended for a reference to a God? Totally ridiculous bull shit is all this is. Nuff said.
