I think it was a perfectly reasonable decision that Mr. Holder went to Ferguson. He attempted to defuse the racial situation there and spoke to the people. I saw some interviewed and they were glad he came and felt he spoke to them. I suspect the unrest has been a long time coming and can't be stopped on a dime. Ferguson should look like its constituents, it doesn't, this can be directly related to the electorate not voting.

Last night, there was much less rioting and arrests. This was due, in part, to the rain but also because Mr. Holder had been there in the afternoon. I'm glad he went there. If you would look past your hate of this administration and view events, you may see the good that came of it.

This was just posted on another thread by a UHH poster,

"Just happened, Salt Lake City, Black cop (reported in the news - not white) shoots and kills white unarmed kid while sitting down. This one is on camera, the cop was wearing one. So this does consider your first sentence Quote:" But consider if this had been a black cop and a white perp similar size." Oh, this prep was much smaller in size.

Wanna make a bet no rioting, no governor going public, condemning the cop before he has a trial? Wanna make a bet no
JJ's, or Sharpton going to the area. Wanna make a bet the President won't send Holder to have another investigation of civil rights violations."

What has that to do with the Attorney General visiting Ferguson to help ease racial tensions and you feeling it is "reprehensible?"

Interesting article. I tend to think that the second version is factual. IMO I think Wilson is innocent and Brown was out to make a "statement" to all his gangbanger cohorts. In any event ... if Wilson is found innocent, there will be a Nation wide race riot on our hands.

Two step procedure is required to make the local police department to be racially identical in population tonthe local citizens. First, fire WHITE cops, for being WHITE. Secondly, hire BLACK applicants because they are BLACK. Both actions are not only racist, but illegal under federal law. Please explain how you suggest overcoming this federal and morally correct limitation?

Because easing tensions is not the intent. Inciting a riot to implement more control is.

This Fergeson situation is all about the politicians and their agenda. The politico's are on stage playing to their constituents hoping for personal gains, meanwhile by their actions they are going to put that Cop who was just doing his job, on quick road to jail, mainly for expediency. We collectively shake our heads about what goes on in Iraq with their divided religious beliefs causing terrible injustices but we now have the same thing going on with race here in the USA. We are in the process of creating a political system that allows one group to get a pass for strong-armed robbery, looting, and mayhem, while the legally constituted authority is persecuted for doing their job. That Cop has very little chance of being exonerated in that town, simply because he is the wrong color according to the local majority. Notice that no one is talking about his RIGHTS!
