Holder says the world is watching. They are amd so far all I've seen is politicians falling overthemselves to convict the Police Officer without trial or before the facts are fully known. I'm afraid American justice doesn't seem to be what it was.....impartial!

The sad part is Bo & EH have made this a civil rights issue, not a case of what actually happened ........

Frankly EO should withdraw himself from this case ......

Since when does the Federal Government have the right to stick it's nose in Local Law? Murder is a State crime not a Federal one.

When they want to make it about race and further divide the country.

"The eyes of the nation and the world are watching Ferguson right now,'' Holder told a group of community leaders assembled at a local community college. "The world is watching because the issues raised by the shooting of Michael Brown predate this incident. This is something that has a history to it, and the history simmers beneath the surface in more communities than just Ferguson."

i agree, about the issues raised, i.e. if you're a thug and you attack an armed person you will likely die. history is history, we don't own people anymore. the government, however, does own several groups of people and is invested in keeping them happy.

The Federal Government cannot prosecute for the state crime of murder. However, Title 18, Section 1983 of the U.S. Code allows prosecution for depriving someone of their civil rights.

Unfortunately, in this particular case the truth seems to be a casualty. I've heard a lot about riots and a lot about politics but I haven't heard what actually happened and that is where the rubber meets the road.

They are going to have to prove that Michael's civil rights were violated.

I think it was a perfectly reasonable decision that Mr. Holder went to Ferguson. He attempted to defuse the racial situation there and spoke to the people. I saw some interviewed and they were glad he came and felt he spoke to them. I suspect the unrest has been a long time coming and can't be stopped on a dime. Ferguson should look like its constituents, it doesn't, this can be directly related to the electorate not voting.

Last night, there was much less rioting and arrests. This was due, in part, to the rain but also because Mr. Holder had been there in the afternoon. I'm glad he went there. If you would look past your hate of this administration and view events, you may see the good that came of it.

This was just posted on another thread by a UHH poster,

"Just happened, Salt Lake City, Black cop (reported in the news - not white) shoots and kills white unarmed kid while sitting down. This one is on camera, the cop was wearing one. So this does consider your first sentence Quote:" But consider if this had been a black cop and a white perp similar size." Oh, this prep was much smaller in size.

Wanna make a bet no rioting, no governor going public, condemning the cop before he has a trial? Wanna make a bet no JJ's, or Sharpton going to the area. Wanna make a bet the President won't send Holder to have another investigation of civil rights violations."

No one has ever divided this country like Holder and Obama. Holder has a long history of doing so. That's why Obama picked him.
