Could probably also use picture frames put together with hinges. Might be less work for those, like me, who don't have the skills you seem to have.
I can post pictures of the inside, but pictures alone won't show you how to make it. First you have to realize that the part that reaches to the harp is made like a wagon wheel in order that the weight of the shade won't push the hub out. My shade was made as a pentagon in order to give a reasonable size and proportion to the pics. As for using hinges, I used Sitka Spruce for the frame in order to save on weight while maintaining strength. I think the hinges would add too much weight.
