And the b/w version ... (little more contrast) - I personally like color better for an image like this.

I like the basic composition, but have a few comments:

- #1 has a little color tint to it, may have been done on purpose? #2 is neutral, I think it looks better.

- Both appear to have very slightly blown out highlights, should be correctible.

- #2 has too much distracting stuff going on in front of the subject, doubt it can be PP'd out.

The head is so exquisite and lovely....have you thought of just cropping on the head in a square photo?

Composition, including the rule of thirds, applies to all types of photography, including nature photos. With rare exception, placing your subject directly in the center of a photo extinguishes most of the dynamics/energy available to you.

That is if you have interesting surrounding material. In this case, there is a lot of uninteresting extraneous material. What's really of interest in this photo, and particularly nice, is the head and neck of the bird. Not every great photo in the world follows the rule of thirds.

I did say there were exceptions, but composition is composition. If there is no interesting background and you can't crop to make the remainder interesting (which usually means following the rule of 3rds) then perhaps you should walk on until the right subject matter presents itself, eh?

Frankly, I don't think you know what you're talking about. I am sure there is such a thing as the composition of photographing heads.

I am using post- processing software Lightroom 4, my question is how I save my picture after I color spot one area in a black and white photo in the develop module. I will appreciate any help.
