another waste of time question except for those who have nothing but time-fellow Hogs.

I prefer Zenobia, Zeiss, and Rolliflex, but that's just me. ;-)

Well, according to my tests performed when I bought a Sony the results are as follows:
Canon outperforms Nikon as a boat anchor, but a Nikon will knock a cat off the bird feeder better. (better aerodynamics)
Canon seems to make a nicer splat pattern off an overpass, but Olympus is the absolute best in the field because it will bounce bumper high for a better spread.
Nikon is harder for idiots to remove from their rectum after they quote Ken Rockwell at one of my photo shoots, but if you can get the Canon in there sideways without losing your shoe then its a close call.
Nikon units are easier to saw in half on a meat saw, but that is body only. Results with lenses on are mixed.
Fuji blows them both away on the ordinance test, leaving only a small amount of shrapnel behind.
Nikon gets greater distance from the trebuchet due to better aerodynamics mentioned earlier.
Hope this helps! If you still aren't sure which camera to buy, go to the nearest camera store and ask them which one they recommend.

Best damn answer I've read in a long time!

Sorry for the omission; after working a 12 hour overnight shift I fell a little short on the camera bashing. When it stops raining I will drag the trebucet to the top of the overpass along with a bag of ordinance and some Pentax and Panasonic bodies for experimentation. I can't afford Leica gear, but I hear that if you stack enough of them together they make a really strong outhouse! :P
LOL. :-D Nice Moth by-the-way. :-)

There is a new camera coming out that will beat them both. I am not sure what it is called. Either the "Canikon",or the "NikCanon". LOL
I own the Nikon, I love it, but I don't think that either one of them can hold the title of being the best. However both of them are way beyond myself ever outgrowing either of them.
The best one is whatever camera you have in your hands when a million dollar photo opp presents itself.

I heard of this! In order to top a Sony, they rest of them pitched in to create the new Olympenta-fujicanikon camera! It only needs a human to put in a battery and switch it on. It changes it's own lenses, walks outside and takes pics for you and even does PP and uploads them to the web. The only problem with this new system is that it instigates arguments on web forums between shooters who haven't bought the new system.
The darn things are bullet proof, weather resistant, have a constant f1.7 aperture, rocket boosters and a Skynet processor. I passed one on the freeway the other day and when I honked at it, it burned the word "asshole" on my car with it's laser rangefinder. Later that day I saw one in the window of the local pawnshop devouring a slew of old Kodak and HP 3.2 mp cameras.
I'm telling you folks, if we don't do something about these damn things soon there won't be a single photo-op left for humans! Let's band together now and march on Japan!! Down with the machines!!!!
Sorry. Disregard previous. Terminator flashback.

I can't believe you're an ADVANCED Amateur or you wouldn't ask such a dumb question.

Which ever one you have in your hands will produce far better shots than the one sitting back on the shelf.
Therefore, one deduces that it's NEVER the CAMERA.
It's NEVER the CAMERA.
It's NEVER the CAMERA.
If you have talent, it won't matter. If you don't have any talent, it also won't matter.

Which camera? A question for the ages! Why did the chicken cross the road?
As mentioned, the camera you have in your hands at the moment is the one. Notice I did not say the "best" one, just the one!
I imagine when Rembrandt was painting people would ask, "which brushes, which oils, which canvas?"
As "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," an "artists achievements come from the soul!"

The answer to your question is "Yes".
  What he said!
Olympenta-fujicanikon camera
If they make those in the F250 series I am buying one. I heard that it already beat out the Hassel-leicablad in a ISO-aperture-f-stop safety test.
