I'll get it right if it kills me. I meant this thread had one of
the worst titles I've ever seen. "So, what is it?"
r.

Nikon and Canon are not the only camera makers, the are several other manufactures which are just as good if not better and also will save you a fortune.

I shoot with a Pentax K-3 and I think it is unsurpassed in quality and features. Canon and Nikon just have larger marketing budgets making them more common.

I assume this must be a rhetorical question not admitting of a definitive answer. It might help if you specified camera models rather than just brand names. Otherwise, it's a wasted thread as by now you should have gathered.

Just use your Iphone, almost no learning curve there. Just point and shoot.
Good luck

I currently shoot Nikon full-frame, but there is a growing number of photographers who are moving toward "mirrorless" cameras, with Sony possibly being the top brand in that category. I have to agree with most of the others on UHH though, most results depend on the photographer, not the camera itself. I do think that Nikon has the better glass, but that's just me.

Yes. Either one is better than nothing.

Considerably better.

Which ever one fits your hands, is easy for you to learn and play with, and you feel comfy using. I prefer Nikon. I like everything about about it. I do not take video so that is not an issue. I hear Canon is better at that than Nikon but I can not attest to that personally.
