Love to hear about your exploits when you get your computer back.

Agree strongly with the advice from Db7423. When I first started LR, I created a catalog each time I uploaded images, which has caused much frustration, rage, and wasted time, not to mention "missing images".
I use LR 5, Photoshop CC, and onOne Suite 8.5.

I just subscribed to cc for Lightroom and cs6 only. I have basic to moderate computer skills....that is to say I cannot go in and play with the guts of the beast when there is a problem.
It was easy to download and my Nik Collection also migrated over after I reinstalled it.
By the way...plug ins now are compatible with CC. This is fairly new as before you had to go through all kinds of cut and paste etc...

Then came the problem....every time I opened one ,I kept getting the box
"Do you wish to continue your trial or license the product".. The box you get when you take a trial for a month. Nothing worked...I could not get a redemption code or serial number, nor get rid of the box.
To make a long story longer, TECH SUPPORT WAS FANTASTIC and worked in the chat room with me for one and a half hours. Finally they took over my screen with Adobe connect and fixed the problem quickly..I never saw anyone move in and out of the various inner workings so quickly.
They were extremely polite and kept contact going. Hats off....very satisfied.

A lot of people make that choice in the beginning, not understanding why its better to have one large catalog than lots of little ones - yours truly included. I use the same software as you do, and lots of other apps and plugins. Lightroom manages moving between and among them very nicely.

You don't understand CC. Your software and images default to your computer. The cloud service is used to deploy updates and upgrades. Images remain on your computer, though you can save a backup of your files to their cloud. I don't. But I use dropbox (another cloud service) to deliver images to my clients.

I subscribed to the $10 deal several months ago - installation was smooth, and I have received a number of updates and a new version - CC2014 - a couple of weeks ago. With every new update, I am reassured that it was the right decision. Photoshop now is considerably better than CS6 at this point, and it is only getting better.

I may have missed the conversation... But I am seriously considering doing the monthly adobe package of LR and PS. $9.99 seems like a no brainer, but is the execution problematic or nice and smooth. I am experienced with PSE and I know there will be a learning curve with both LR and PS. PSE 11 is on my computer .. Working in the cloud for post processing is new. Comments?

The $9.99 deal also includes access to an almost unlimited number of online-tutorials for LR and PS CC.

You are permitted to install on two computers. I put them on my desktop and laptop.

Actually, you are a bit skewed on the details.

You can have the subscription programs on as many of your computers as you need, but only 2 are live and working at any given moment. If you try starting PS CC on a deactivated pc, Adobe will ask if you want to deactivate one or both of the other active pcs. Simply click yes and you are good to go.

I can keep up to date on all my pcs and laptops at home and in my office this way and not lose access.

If Adobe would have just left out the word "Cloud", maybe people would not be so hesitate about signing on.
