George W. Bush Is Smarter than You
"is George W. Bush Is Smarter than You"

Google it and learn about GW.
Some folks are too smart to google that. Even Dubya admits he's not the brightest flower on the cart.
Jack,
George W's estimated iq was below 95. If you use that as a measure he may be smarter than you, but certainly not me and certainly not smarter than 50% of the population.
If however you want to take the opinion of Hennessy as fact and not just opinion, you can conclude whatever you want, as long as you understand that a conclusion based on false assumptions will be false.

Estimated by whom? By what methodology?
His college GPA was better than Kerry's? What is Kerry's estimated IQ? Gore's?

SAT of 1206 in the 90's correlates roughly to 1280 at today's recording levels. This puts Bush at an estimated 125 IQ, which is the top 5%, which would technically qualify him, based on SAT scores alone (from the 90's) for membership in the "International High IQ Society" who accept SAT scores that have an equivalency of a standard IQ of 124.
http://www.highiqsociety.org/join.phpIt would also qualify him for the "High Five Society" another Hi-IQ group that was popular in the 90's and may still be around.
I'm not a Republican and did not vote for George W Bush but I always liked the guy, despite some of the decisions and directions he took in politics. I've always felt that he was a lot more intelligent than most people would give him credit for.
When I joined Mensa back in the early 90's I had to take 2 proctored IQ tests (one for qualification and one as part of their own IQ studies group) and scored and IQ of 151 and 147 respectively on both (qualification for Mensa is ~ IQ=132).
I always though George W Bush (or any former president) would be a fascinationg person to sit and talk to.
I'm curious, what were Obama's SAT scores. Or ACT if that was his test of choice.
It doesn't matter if he had a high IQ, he was influenced easily, unfortunately he had a much older and hard lined vice president. He relied too heavily on him and that's where he lost his way.
I think GWB would be a nice person to talk to, just not the type of person you would ever want in a position of authority. Perhaps he was in a bad position having Cheney as a close advisor because he was a friend of the Bush family before becoming vice president.
The last sentence of this "article of journalism" pretty much sums up its credibility. The author admits that it is speculation...

Since when does SAT measure IQ? Just how does it do that, it seems to me that the SAT measured some problem solving capabilities but also measured a lot about vocabulary and basic skills that should have been learned in school.

I am sure that our Military allows personnel with IQ's of 95 to be pilots.

As a part of Obama's open and transparent administration all those records are sealed.

Mensa and most other Hi-IQ societies used to accept SAT and ACT scores but, for the most part, discontinued accepting these scores some time ago. I don't know the reason but the most likely was because students were now able to raise their scores by attending prep courses, they ceased to measure I.Q. scores and simply measured the level of the (aided) preparation.
