Great shot Bob your work always inspires me to improve!
Why thank you wetaft ...... if I inspire you to get out and shoot, then I'm happy. I can honestly say during my short time at UHH I have learned many things which I have incorporated into my own shooting style. But I suspect highest among them is the willingness to experiment with new stuff.

Thank you Indrajeet. I didn't realize I had an international viewership, but I shouldn't be surprised ...... when I check people's avatars, I see UK, Australia, India, Israel and many others. I guess, then, that photography is almost as much an international "language" as is music.

How beautiful. Love the light and colors and composition.
Thank you Yooper. Someday I need to get up there and see if I can't bring back some keepers from the Porcupine Mountains in the U.P.
Thanks Durango. I will be driving through Ohio on my way to Michigan in August. I have noticed that there are very few mountains in Ohio except down on its southern border. But you have other places that are beautiful too.

Thanks for the compliment Les. Some scenes just lend themselves well to a camera lens - mountains and waterfalls are my absolute favorites.

Very nice, Bob...
Thank you hb3. This was a beautiful place to "get away from it all" for a few hours.

We live in Marietta, which is in the Southeastern part of the state on the Ohio River. We have hills, but no mountains. You really captured the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Nice Job!

You captured the blue ridge mts. perfectly.Well done.
Thank you very much MTG44. I see you're from Tennessee, and you've got some beautiful mountains of your own out on the eastern border with NC.
Bob excellent composition, perspective and contrast but more importantly you got to see it.thanks for posting. Rich
Nice photo, Bob. I especially like the capture of layer after layer of the Blue Ridges in the background.

Thank you for your kind words ras422. You bring up an interesting point ..... "you got to see it". There are
some folks who would say, "Put the camera down, and just enjoy the scenery". Well, I can tell you, I do both ..... I truly enjoy these majestic vistas, I
do put the camera down long enough drink it all in, then capture a few images to bring home. Best of all worlds.
Laurel and Hardy country?

Thanks jaymatt. As you can imagine, I took many, many photographs at different outlooks, then reviewed them later to see which one best portrayed the scenery. While many of them showed the various layers of the mountains, I liked this one best because it had so many levels of "depth", and that gap in the mountains just naturally drew my attention out to the horizon.
Excellent rendition of the "land of the Blue Smoke"
