Verdant foliage - it had rained only 15 minutes prior to this capture, and had cleared the sky of any haze. At 65 degrees with a light breeze, this was a perfect day to be in the mountains with a camera.

That is a great shot. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful DOF- Great shot.
I can see why they call them the Blue Ridge. Great shot.
That brings back memories of when I lived up north. The biggest thing we miss are the mountains. Thanks for the great shot!

Thank you Zinkler. I never tire of mountain vistas. I just wouldn't want to live there in the winter.

Thank you very much CrispColors. I had always heard one should include some foreground (the grass), some mid-range (trees) and then the horizon so one can fully appreciate the distance.

Amazing shot Bob. Makes me wish I'd been there in that moment. I like the square crop on this too.

Thanks rgrenaderphoto, the Blue Ridge Parkway starts up north in Virginia, then runs through North Carolina and down into Georgia. It's a very windy road, speed limit 45 mph, and we were driving even slower than that so we could be sure to stop at all the overlooks.

I had to chuckle zodirock. I'm originally from Michigan, you when you said "up north", I think we were picturing different places.
Beautiful. Nice picture. You could frame this one!

Thanks Walt. The square crop probably had more to do with the fact that I shot vertically on this one, and had way more grass than I needed.

Thanks much, C.R. I'm not sure if all mountain ranges in NC look blue in the distance, but this one certainly does. If I were to drive a little further to the west, I could see the Great Smoky Mountains, but I think they come off as grey colored.
