Beautiful. Nice picture. You could frame this one!

Thanks for the compliment BooIsMyCat. Truthfully, I'd rather go back and experience it in person than to put the photo on the wall.

Beautiful, lush mountain scene. I love landscape photos, and this one is very nice.

Thank you globetrekker. I was going to say, you have plenty of mountains in California, but I suspect they're drier than this particular range.

A very scenic vista, and very well composed. A little near, a little mid, and a little far, interesting and appealing visually.

Can't tell you how glad I am not to be standing there three hundred-plus years ago beside a wagon trying to make my way across those mountains with no roads and no idea what was on the other side of them.

The people that had the guts to do that kind of thing were not to be trifled with!

I had to chuckle zodirock. I'm originally from Michigan, you when you said "up north", I think we were picturing different places.

I was meaning Kentucky.. Just about everywhere is "up north" from here lol.

Interesting stuff Treepusher. Not far from this place there is a place called "Daniel Boone Trace", marking a trail he'd followed through the mountains on one of his first trips to Tennessee (which was still North Carolina all the way to the Mississippi River).

Great shot Bob your work always inspires me to improve!

Verdant foliage - it had rained only 15 minutes prior to this capture, and had cleared the sky of any haze. At 65 degrees with a light breeze, this was a perfect day to be in the mountains with a camera.

Thank you Rizer - it takes a little bit of light balancing to create a convincing sense of distance.
