My wonderful state comes out at #49. (That's out of 50 states, not 58 states). We are second only to California in "unpatrioticity". How utterly embarrassing. I must go find a rock and crawl under it. Oh the shame. Damn you Al Franken !!!!

I would not be shocked. These days I can not even find a kid who can count back change.

Chris, last Sunday I was in San Francisco. Going from the Crissy Field area to the Bay Bridge. This is the quickest way for us to get home. Normally a 3 1/2 hour trip. We ended up going down the 101 adding 2 1/2 hours to our trip. Not against Gay Pride but against any group having a parade in San Francisco when I'm trying to get home.

I agree about California, certainly in San Francisco anyway. I hardly ever see the American flag. We have one hell of a bunch of rainbow flags though and consulate flags of the countries they represent too. Last week there were hundreds of flags along Market St. for Pride week and the parade. Over the 4th, there are is not an American flag in sight!

That's my rant for the day too. Happy 4th of July weekend everyone!

I hear what you are saying, but I don't think it's the best idea to try to make your waiter feel stupid. They will be bringing your dinner over to you which I'm sure you would prefer spit free.

This is the most ridiculous "survey" I have ever seen. It's an attempt to quantify patriotism. Is the guy with a large 3 X 5' flag waving from his pickup truck more patriotic than I am? Maybe I could be more patriotic by tattooing an American flag on my forehead. I don't see how doing a Google search for American flags makes one patriotic. I think patriotism is more internal than external. Bumper stickers, protests, and flag clothing do not make someone patriotic. Surveys like this only serve to divide people. "My state's more patriotic than yours!"

That's my rant for the day.

That is why I am as politically incorrect as you can be.

If you go to another country do they not want to offend you?

I think not. You either learn the language, customs and mores or take your butt elsewhere. Wake Up America, get your heads out of the sand.

That's the problem with America, too much Ranting and little Doing. This country is hauling ass down the crapper since the Vietnam era. That's when all the draft dodgers got draft deferments and stayed in college and got degrees in education. They then went on to become the teachers of our new generation of ignorant and impressionable youth. Who also went on to do the same. The dumb leading the dumber. No one with any practical world experience to embellish or dispute the drivel they espouted. I'm sorry if I've offended any of the women Hoggers.

When I returned to college in the 70's after doing my military service, I had numerous vehement discussions with most of my college teachers (I refuse to consider them Professors). Never was my point of view ever disproven by any of them. None of them had any "real world" job experiences, just their "Ivory Tower" Acadamian Plu-perfect world where nobody had any balls to criticize any other so called Acadamians plu-perfect view of the Ivory Tower world.

And you wonder what the Hell is wrong with the United States of America? Wake up, take off your rose colored glasses and smell the coffee before it's too damn late!!!!!

Jesus, I've got to switch to Decaf. I've had (4) 20 oz. mugs of coffee called "Wake the F**K UP coffee. Double the caffeine of regular ground coffee. That with (2) shots of Bailey's Irish Creme in each mug will free up your libido and give you diarrhea of the mouth (or fingers). But it also allows you to say the truth.

I read something a long time ago about the education of the children.

Paraphrasing, all though their education they are taught that it is, kumbaya and all team work that is stressed in school educational system. This is pre-school through the highest grade they attain. This includes college where indoctrination is most heavily stressed. Like save the whales, or we are the world, leave no child behind, New Math or the new method they want to teach. Fly the Mexican flag but spit on the American flag. Is some of this important - yes, but definitely not all.

A problem arises once they leave the education institution and enter the real working world, it is not brotherhood that they were taught. The real working world, is as they use to say "a real rat race". Don't think so, just mention union. Watch the rats come out of the woodwork. Everyone should stand on their own, blast those who want to unite!

Look at the unity of Dem vs Rep; or Conservatives vs liberals, everything is divided and with just as much not wanting to work as a group, but only my (not really mine, but a relative speaking mine) side. Old saying goes "United we stand, divided we fall" and brother are we falling!

Can't get anything through Congress, Immigration reform stalled, but illegals flooding into the country, big wage difference between Ceo's and the little man, jobs shipped overseas with no thought to brotherhood and team work, etc. Where is the comradery or kumbaya that was preached in school. Where is the common ground that we are to stand on?

It's like "Do you ride a Harley or just wear the t shirts" God bless America! At least the one we used to know.

Why yes, I do both. And the Harley I ride is a 2007 Heritage Softtail Military addition. Has Air Force ensignias on it.

Jerry, you are right. I haven't looked at the list, but my guess is that some media are just trying to stir things up, and having taken statistics in college, I can probably prove anything I choose statistically just by asking the question correctly to get the answers that I want.

Yes i have, it was about a month before Christmas, some person complained about the Christmas tree in the Town office lobby, said it was insulting to them, so the town had to take it down. Pure bullshit as far as i am concerned. I would have told the to go to hell.
