Maybe I am totally wrong, but I thought the Spotmatic wasn't even introduced until 1964 as the Asahi Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic?

Still using my K100 - one of the best long exposure sensors available. Also still using my K20 and am looking to move up to the K-5 when the funds permit. Love the older F* and FA* glass, expensive but some of the best glass ever made.

A K-1000 in Arizona here. I use older film cameras, Argus, Agfa/Ansco, Ciroflex, Ikoflex, the ubiquitous Kodak. But the Pentax is the jewel of the collection.

I'm a loyal Pentax user. Started with a Pentax my brother bought in Viet Nam and gave to me back in 1968 - when it was stolen, I bought another Pentax me super. When that broke - I took a "break" and used digital point and shoots, Panasonic, Fuji, Olympus ... until now when I've come back to the fold. I decided I've got time again (and a little more money) to get back into the fun stuff and just bought a Pentax K-5 for an upcoming trip to Italy. It's so much fun, but I have a lot to learn! Why did I go Pentax? Part sentimentality, part rebel (another pun) to avoid Canon and Nikon, and I have some old lenses sitting around I almost gave away. They work perfectly, so I like being able to recycle my old lenses. 50mm 1.7, 28mm 2.8 and some other ones that aren't good. I also got the K-5 because it has everything I wanted - used old lenses, weatherproof, built like a tank, small - ish, great picture quality ... though the viewfinder could improve, I do miss my Panasonic with the rotating viewfinder. So I'm here, I'm Pentax, and I'm proud.

I had a *ist DS and up graded to a K10D.
For Point & Shoot & water proof camera I have a W90.
My first Pentax was a K1000 in 1978, I upgraded a few times with newer Pentax film cameras. I still use the ZX5n for film from time to time. I also have many others in my collection some of which I have used.

Canon & Nikon make some lens that Pentax does not make one equal to them but they are too expensive for me to buy, and many of them too heavy to carry.

There are too many topics on UHH to read, I try not to often the Canon & Nikon specific topics.

I am surprised that Nikon users have not tried to take this thread over yet. Many of them seem to do that for discussions about other camera makes.

I have both the K5 & the K7! the only problem it seems with pentax is finding the bigger telephoto lens. Sigma does make a 500, F4.5 but that is the biggest quality lens you will find to fit Pentax cameras.

not much longer to wait the Pentax DA 560mm F5.6 will be out soon
