Original cyn, We actually have a lot of mountains and beautiful sceanery in the west. There are real Mountains out here. Elevations of 1500' are "foothills". I live at the foot of the Ruby Mountains in Northern Nevada at 5800' and about 5 miles from a 11,000' peak.

MT Shooter, looking at #3, about how many miles are you from the base of the mountain where the snow starts. Just not used to seeing that kind of distance. Just a wild guess, are you close to 40 miles away?

I had to go out of town today on a job and the sun came out for about 30 minutes. I took a couple shots of the South side of the Crazy Mountains in Sweetgrass County, Montana. (Yes, the one the Everly Brothers sang about). Hope you like them.

I don't know exactly, but its around 40 miles by road from where I shot them, so I am thinking right around 25 miles as the crow flies.
