pontiac mi.
645d is my "it".
I shoot Pentax. Started out with a K1000 and now I carry a K200d and a K5. Lenses are a 55-300mm, 18-55mm and a 50mm macro.
I use everything from Canon and Nikon, to Pentax and Olympus, and others. Getting really good lenses for the Pentax is the biggest issue. Over the last couple of decades Pentax became more of a consumer level camera and there just weren't that many fast, great lenses around. Like Nikon, you can use lenses that go back to around 1975 (with Nikon 1959) Occasionally a really nice lens pops up, but they are really expensive, like the great Minolta lenses. There were so many Nikon lenses in circulation that they are easier to find. Canon only goes as far back as the EF models (1987) and some of the aftermarket lenses don't interface properly.
I love my Pentax K10D and K20D cameras, but finding lenses is an issue.
BTW: The new Pentax AL lenses are works of art compared to most of the plastic stuff today. They are very small, beautifully built, and generally great image quality, but expensive.
I've been a Pentax user since about about 1950, and still am. When digital reared its head, I remained loyal since I could use all of my lenses on the new digital body. Also I was glad to see Pentax build its stabilization system into the body instead of into the lenses. All of my older lenses work just fine on the new body ... currently a K2000. (Not the best thing Pentax ever produced, but sufficient for this time. Newer bodies are better.) Here's a photo taken last year at a fireman's parade. I wonder how the drum major reacted. I love the photo ... not so much for its technical attributes, but for the captured moment in time.
March in place!

Great question I have been shooting Pentax`since 1968 when I got my first K 1000 still have it but have three more K1000 and a SX7 that was my last film camera.Since then I have got to digital and Pentax was the choise as I have severl lenses that fit. The choise was simple got lenses get camera that fits. Now I have the first digital I used it is a istD great it is a great 6.5 mgp camera. Then came the K10 WOW what a step up. It is a 10 mgp and then came the K7 Now I take the 10 and the 7 every were I go One with a 18 to 55 and the othere the 50 to 300 Works so nice. Dont have any problems they take awsome pictures. and I have take Thousands of pictures. It is my giggle in life.
I am a proud Pentax owner. I've had the K20D for about two and a half years now. I really love it.
Bravo for each of you ! So nice to know that I'm not alone. I'm just about tired of continually getting beat up by you guys with the Canon and Nikons, not to say they aren't good also, but I feel I've got a Rolls Royce, at least for me who is faaaar from being a professional...just an everyday snap shooter. With that being said, my every day carry pocket camera is an old Nikon P60 (8.1 meg 5x optical 2-AA), long before the K10D. The P60 was my first digital, and I'm spoiled, and too cheap to go back to film.
These Canon and Nikon guys need some strong competition.lets see more of your Pentax results.
UHH is great, as I'm not too impressed with the Pentax forum.
