Last month I found this Red-bellied Woodpecker working hard on it's nest. A couple of weeks later I stopped by to check on the nest and found this snake had taken over. I was amazed the snake could get up a tree that had no branches. I thought some of you might find this interesting. Comments always appreciated.

Is the woodpecker o.k.? I had a next with the same woodpecker and the starlings threw him out!

Looks like a corn snake. They are great tree climbers
Thinking the snake went up there for a meal of fresh eggs.

Hello Maryle12! Thanks for commenting. Can't really know about that woodpecker but I suspect it is ok. The snake was probably after the eggs if there were any. That woodpecker probably notice him approaching and split.
