Hi guys, I recently down loaded the 30 day trial of Topaz Photo Software, and I"ve been playing with it, and some of its features, I was wondering, how many of Topaz features have some of you experienced users, purchased? , have you purchased the entire suite?..........I was wondering what your reccomendations would be, Up untill now, I have been useing Nikon"s NX-2 Software
but I like the more so creative freedom, that Topaz offers
any Ideas??

I've experimented with all the topaz modules and bought adjust, clarity and simplify. For a total suite I use NIK which is cheaper and I like it better, especially the control point approach to editing . Last summer I got the On One suite when they were practically giving it away and it's great too, serving as either plugins or as a substitute for photoshop since it stands alone and manages layers. I have all these connected to Lightroom so I do my basics there, and the plugins for more detailed or creative edits.

If I were you I'd try out the three suites for free and buy based on how well they fit your needs.

I have the entire suite and like them all but use some more then others and I think the best way to go is with all and purchase when they have their 30% discount. Some times they give a 50% discount but not that often and when they do it's around special holidays like Christmas....Rich

After trying out the Topaz plug-ins for Pshop, I wonder how I got along without them. DeNoise is a must, like breathing. I also use Detail on almost every image. Best way to acquire them is to go to their site and sign up for their free, live 1-hr webinars. They offer nice discounts at the end of each one, and they usually give away a plug-in to a couple of people.

I have every filter Topaz makes, as well as their Photofx lab. I used to use them all regularly, but the past year have been using, and loving even more the On one Photo suite. It has just been updated to 8.5. I only seem to use topaz now if I have any noise, as their Denoise is very good.

If marooned on an Island, which of my full Topaz suite would I take?

My choice would be DeNoise and Detail. Why, because my with me 24/7 Pan ZS20 super zoom (Leica 20X optics) pocket camera needs both to give excellent photos. Least used is lens effect, and focus. Clarity is excellent for adjusting color.

And yes, Big Wolf is right, that 50% is really great. Adjust is the only one I have paid full price for, the rest have been at the intro 50% price. They continue to improve and upgrade and have never charged for updates... rare!

I have most of the Topaz Plugins, I use most of them, my Favorites are B&W Effects, Clarity and Adjust.

Topaz holds webinars to demo their products, I've found them very useful.

Topaz is generally good and very reasonable. The only one I use with any regularity is Detail, which is by far the best sharpening software out there. I bought Clarity and hardly use it, but it comes in handy occasionally. I like Noiseware 5 much better than Topaz Denoise or whatever they call it, and for the rest I can do it fine in PS. Simplify is interesting but I'm not much into manipulations.
