note that in general, when liberals begin to lose their argument in a discussion they immediately resort to name-calling....the current phrase in their very limited lexicon being "racist." In other words if you don't support Obummer's world view of fascism and denial of all your civil rights it has to be only because you dislike his color....anyone dumb enough to fall for that really ought to be a liberal!

Which color, the black side, the white side or to some the muslim side?

Well, I must say, Rich, that you seem to be proving Flash's point concerning liberals. What I find interesting is that Fox News generally have people from both ideologies on their shows on a regular basis; so-called main stream media tend to avoid conservative issues unless in a negative concept.

Having said that; I lean to the conservative side, but consider myself somewhat of an Independent. Whoever I think will do the best job gets my vote regardless of party. But keep in mind that we, as citizens of this great country, care about our constitutional rights. You want my vote; protect those rights.

Does name calling concern conservatives? How about Obummer, Obozo, Moochelle, libtard, etc., etc., etc.

OK,

For all of you "closet" Bush haters, here's one.

No, you're wrong. I get FOX news feeds and read them daily. FOX only shows one side of the news. If they do by chance show another side, it's very weak in resistance. They don't report much of the news. Anything that is detrimental to Repubs, they don't show...you never hear of it. FOX is a right wing propaganda machine. They fought and won in court the right to not publish news but opinions. You can look that up, FOX doesn't report it.

Being a determined non-liberal/progressive, I cringe sometimes when some UHH people whose core values run pretty much with mine resort to ad hominem attacks. That is essentially lowering ourselves to playing on the field of THEIR choice.

This article has some interesting points:

Here's the wrap: " If you're trying to win an Oxford Union debate with a liberal, you’ve missed the point. This isn't about the Marquess of Queensberry’s fussy little rules. This isn't about some sort of extended-pinky exchange of ideas over a fine glass of port. This is about fighting for our way of life and our fundamental rights against the intellectual heirs of Stalin, Mao and Hitler.

Attack. This is about winning. First prize is freedom. Second prize is tyranny. "

If you want the lowdown on the "liberal" lefties, and their Islamic cohorts, please help your understanding by reading Current # 1 on Amazon and New York Times Bestseller "THE GRAND JIHAD, How Islam and the Left Sabotage America", by
author and former Federal Prosecutor in the Justice Department, Andrew C McCarthy, who also penned the similarly deadly factual "Willful Blindness : A Memoir of the Jihad." Both are very factual eye openers, if you are not fully aware of these tremendously researched books and topics.
The links are strange but undeniable.

The problem most of us have... and it showed up just yesterday in a "discussion" over the problems with the VA (government run socialized medicine)... is that when you state "facts", in a rational, logical, calm, provable way... liberals can only argue back with things like, "who told you that crap", or "where did you hear that, but what about", or "you're full of crap"... they instantaneously resort to name calling, evasion, or instead of answering your comment, they go off on a totally new tangent and try to attack something else. When discussing the VA situation and vets being "left to die" some moronic liberal jumped in and said his mother got the best medical treatment right up until her death. He didn't even consider that anything less, even if the government itself claimed it was true, could really be true... it must be a conservative witch hunt. One even jumped in and said,"What about Sara Palin and all her Lies." Liberals don't deal with reality, they deal with ... hell, I don't even know what they deal with... Pelosi said she wanted to wait until all the facts were in before she made any further comment... meaning, stall, evade, hide until it goes away... while she's really thinking this is another conservative attempt to ruin this country... while she does her best to subvert it... if you look at most of her statements, replies, or rebutales to any topic, and considering her education and relative intelligence, how stupid she really is... how do you expect to have a discussion with your average liberal that believes everything they hear from the left and nothing they hear from the right or even from independent sources withe written proof?

Dennis,

I was just being my usual wise-assed self. Ignore me, kinda like Larry.

Normally I can be a wise ass myself and my intentions are usually taken for other than I had intended.

Please allow me to apologize for not recognizing your intentions this time. I am always told by friends and relatives that I should not joke over the Internet because of my sarcastic nature. It is hard to detect nuances in speech or the wink of an eye that would be spotted immediately if talking face to face. I have said your exact words (and your point) to friends with great success but missed your intentions. I should have known better.

Again my apology,

Dennis

Thats exactly why I object to the lazy Hitler talk. It is both fatuous and repugnant. I am very sorry this happened to your family, no matter how far removed from it you are personally.

Only Hitler is like Hitler.

So how much longer is everyone going to beat this dead horse? Let's face it there is no way common ground is going to be found here, just like the bozos in DC.

Finley someone understands. The only thing people can do is vote but as usual the ones that complain the most are the ones that don't vote. At the last election I went to 5 voting places and the highest turn out at one of the poles was 32%. All the rest were under that and to think that our men and woman go to war to protect our right to vote. Now this is a real shame. If more people would vote instead of complain maybe things would change and that goes for all parties. Remember most all those people in Washington started out with local voting and then worked their way up to were they are now. Think about it....Rich

I agree, Wolf, during the primaries, there were more people working there than came into vote while I was there. NOBODY has an excuse not to vote. The turnout was very low in my precinct. I was especially interested because I am for Tom Wolf and have been preaching about him for a long time for those who'd listen. We have to give Corbett his walking papers. :)

Are we equating the vast 97% percent of world scientists vs Fox News /Rush Limbaugh that's quite a contest. We know what the facts are....while conservatives put their collective heads in a hole!

When it was said the earth was flat, 97% of scientists agreed with that. Didn't know this same group of scientists lived this long but the statistics don't lie.
