These are all beautiful pictures of the AT. 630 mi is quite an accomplishment. Good on her. She can pick up the other 700 in the future and still be a thru-hiker. Done this myself a few years back.

She got 631 miles further than many people can. That is one outstanding performance, even for seasoned hikers. I tip my hat to her for her gallent effort. Now the pictures are just awesome. The frost really gives a good idea of the cold at those altitudes. Amazingly clear photography. I bet she saw things most of us will never see. Glad you two are back together and she's safe and sound. Post more stuff sometime, I've really enjoyed following your posts of her trip.

Her photo images are wonderful and probably only a sample of the beauty she must have seen along the trail. Did she encounter any dangerous things like bears, snakes? And good for her to have no regrets--that's how we all want to get through life. I also admire you, ebrunner to support her in this endeavor. Many spouses out there would be too selfish or scared.

Read a couple books by "thru" hikers. Not for the faint of heart. Maybe she can complete it in sections, many do0.
Congratulations to her!

You should both indeed be proud.
To navigate the AT is a task that is among the greatest feats one might take on. Not only the sheer magnitude of the scale of hiking from Springer Mountain Ga To Katahdin Maine, The vertical rises and drops add double the distance.
To accomplish what you have endured with arthritis is an admirable feat and certainly one of which to be proud.
Take pleasure and pride in your accomplishments.
Your images bring to life what the AT offers. Beauty, solitude, dedication.
Well captured!

How brave of her. How beautiful her photos are. She should be proud of herself. I would have loved to have traveled a portion of the trail with her but the entire distance , nah.

When I saw the photos, I could not help but be proud. She wanted to take photos of her trip; but she thought she had no photographic talent. I think she has a good sense of composition. I'll be posting more. Thank you Pierre. I'll certainly pass your comments on.

Thank you. Our plan is to complete the rest of the distance in sections. The good thing about that is that I will be able to go with her. It was a tough few months around here without her.

Thank you so much, James. I'm glad she is home and I'm very proud of her. The plan now is to complete the trail in sections. This time, however, I'll be going along. Since I have the summers off and she is currently unemployed, we decided that we would take the time that she would have been on the trail this summer and spend it together. We'll be doing many hikes this summer and I hope to have some nice landscapes of New York State and Perhaps the White Mountains to post for you guys.

Thank you for your kind words. She did not see any bears, and the snakes she saw were all harmless. I'm pleased the way the photos came out. I'll be posting more of them in the coming days. Again, thank you for your support, it made a difference.

beautiful photos and WOW!!!!, she made it much further then I would've. I'm good for about 5 miles, ha. When your partner isn't able to make it, it can have a huge psychological impact on you and makes it hard to keep going. She really is to be commended for her accomplishment.
