Really nice, #2 really captures me as it reinforces the metallic features and the power/energy behind that machine.

Great shots. It always amazed me just how much horsepower can be generated by that piston box (or whatever they call it).

Thank you, a couple of terms are common Steam Chest, Cylinder Block, no big deal I knew what your talking about, and yes it's amazing how much pressure and force just boiling water can generate.

That is kinda why I chose that location to give a more dramatic and larger aspect of its power by getting a lower angle of view.

Do they still run the one out of Vancouver BC to Lilouette?

That sucks! Probably because of or ex CEO of CN Rail pulled the funding, he always said Steam is a waist of resources! he's a real idiot

Caught NKP 765 operating employee special heading east from Elkhart, IN. to Bryan, OH. and back. Caught her crossing the Elkhart River Saturday May 3, 2014

Then her westbound return trip in Millersburg, IN. about 4 hours latter.

Great set. #2 is a wall hanger. Very well done.

Great shots. I rode the 765 in 1968 when I was a Cinder Dick working for the Norfolk and Western R.R, also my Dad was a fireman on the Nickel Plate years ago

Nickel Plate steamers ran every day near me when I was a kid. I always liked to see them up close when they were stopped at the elevator to pick up grain cars. The line is Norfolk and Southern now, obviously running only diesels, and the elevator is gone. Thanks for the memories.

I like #1 the most. The train belongs to the past and sepia color for history expressing. Very nice shot, I can hear it' s rumbling.
