Well my advice is buy the flash.
I work in a vacuum repair store...so if it isn't broke....run it till it blows up.... lol Then when you want a vacuum don't buy a Dyson they are only able to be repaired at dyson dealers. Of course we are getting really good at un clogging these machines that they claim DON'T lose suction...yea right.
This is my expert opinion.
Get the flash.
Like someone said cleaning is over rated....

As a chap I cannot even understand why there is even a question. Are you completely unaware that there is only so much dust in the world and once it is settled, if left alone never gets deeper! Ask youself Fran, can a vacuum help you take better pictures? See first sentence.....

You obviously don't live on a dirt road.

But I agree with your answer to the original question. If the vacuum still sucks, who cares what it looks like? Get the flash.

That way, people understand why I would buy camera equipment instead of a new vacuum. I did get the Hoover Wind Tunnel Anniversary edition vacuum which Consumer Guide says is the best and it is reasonably priced. The only problem is that now I have to use it. At the time I bought it, it was on sale and had a rebate from Menards. Savings bought photo equipment.

Read that in CR and that is the vacuum I'm getting!!! after the flash of course...

I love the vacuum when I use it. Cats and dog in house, does a good job. Know you will too. Enjoy the flash!

It creeps me out that at the bottom of each page, the little advertisements are now directing me to the Electrolux website. Big Brother Computer is watching!

Flip the coin. While it's in the air, you'll know which way you hope it lands.

PS: Enjoy the flash!

If your vacuum dosn't suck you need a new one. Just get your Kohl's credit card out. Take pics in the daylite for the time being.

The 580ex should be on the top of your list.
Then if needed the 430ex.

Then if absolutely necessary .... A Hoover Windtunnel with the imbedded dirt finder.

I agree and then when the spouse complains about the house say that its not your fault the vacuum cleaner doesn't work. Move it from corner to corner, even leave it in the middle of the room. Heck, its been moved. So you tried, right?

Ken,
Do you own a 580 EXII? If you do please explain how it is not bang for the buck, it is one of the most powerful and versatile stobes I have ever owned. Now my Q Flash is another story.

Go to the thrift store and buy a vacuum for $20 and then to Amazon to buy the flash. You'll save the sales tax and that pays for the vacuum.

George,
this is just my opinion, I have a handful of 430's
and do quite well with them. when I was buying these units,
i did not feel that the 580's were worth the extra $...
sorry, i did not mean to offend
