Why don't you check out the Gimbal head that MT Shooter sells?

Here is the link to the thread. I'd check it out.

Ok,thanks,I'll check it out!

I can vouch for the Nest gimbal head. I purchased one and use it with my Tamron 200-500 lens and it is steady as a rock. It is also carbon fiber construction. The movement is smooth and easy.

MT Shooter is going to be a distributor of a Gimbal that is cheaper and I trust MT implicitly. We should support him for all the help he has given us.

General rule of thumb - you should only put 1/2 the load weight on the tripod. this includes camera, lens, head or gimbal, etc.

Yes, this is what you should be watching out for. Weigh your camera attached to the lens and if it weighs more than 6.5 lbs then get a bigger tripod. I think I read that your tripod is rated at 13 lbs. It really looks a little light for your big lens to me but I don't have the specs on that lens to know for sure.

MT sells a pretty cool carbon fiber gimbal head that I'd probably try if I didn't already have a Wimberley knock-off.

I'm another happy customer of MT Shooter's NEST NT-530H gimbal head. I can't see how a person could do better. It's a very good quality gimbal head that you'd likely pay at least double for a comparable alternative. And I haven't been able to find a downside to it. To me it's a no-brainer.

This might be the same head that MT offers. Not sure but it's interesting.

Thats my Ebay listing. Its higher priced than on my website to cover the 10% Ebay sales commission. Still only $298 from my website.
(TheStrapGuy has been my name on Ebay for over 15 years now, keeps me incognito! ;-) )

I am out of stock at the moment but will have more inventory arriving later this month. I have one International model head that I put a USA plate mount on and that's the one I put on Ebay. These are hand laid carbon fiber and production is slow, factory capacity is only 50 units per month at the moment. They have commissioned 3 more molds and that will boost capacity to 200 units per month by June. Right now I can sell them faster than the factory can make them and 100% of their production is my inventory for March, April and May. My allotment in June will jump to 100 units per month.

MT...I'm interested in the gimbal you are selling....but before I buy would you post some photos using it. I'm sure it's good...but this is the net and I wouldn't trust Jesus on the net.

you might consider the Manfrotto 055 XproB, I use this with a Lensmaster Gimbal.
I shoot Canon 1D Mk II with a 100-400 lens at times with a 1.4 TC. Rock steady.

You can use the search feature here on the "Hog" for more information.
I seem to remember paying 240 bucks for the Lensmaster Gimbal, to my door.
Wimberly cost 600.

Cool. By the way, how much does it weigh?
